Who is the APEEE Director ? 🎤

Dear Parents,

For those of you who may not be familiar with me, I am Anja Galle, the Director of APEEE BxL II Evere & Woluwe. I have been working for the APEEE for nearly 16 years and have held the position of Director since 2017. My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing roles in a small business in Aalst specializing in selling professional kitchen equipment, working for an American multinational, and even contributing to the environmental efforts of the World Wildlife Fund. Ultimately, my path led me to the Parents’ Organization of the European School.

As a mother myself, I wholeheartedly understand the unwavering importance of ensuring your children’s security, well-being, and access to a comprehensive and enriching educational experience. Education holds immense value, and I am immensely proud to see my daughter Annelies graduate as a doctor from Ghent University and my son Michiel pursuing a master’s in medicine as well at the same institution.

Throughout my tenure at APEEE BxL II Evere & Woluwe, I have dedicated myself to fostering a supportive environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of your children. We strive to provide a seamless and enriching experience that extends beyond the classroom, offering a range of extracurricular activities, transportation service, and a nurturing canteen environment.

Since 2017 several challenging situations had to be navigated and this always in close cooperation with the APEEE Board. The temporary closure of the Woluwe canteen due to unfinished works by the Régie des Bâtiments, the Covid epidemic, the opening of the Evere school site with all significant services that required careful planning and close collaboration with the school, the change of IT system, the temporary move of the P1-P2 from Woluwe to Evere, the new Friday afternoon schedule for all nursery, P1 & P2 pupils etc. All decisions and solutions proposed and implemented were in cooperation with the APEEE Board who voted on the decisions to take. This close cooperation is extremely important. Therefore, my special thanks for the excellent cooperation with the former Boards, the current Board and with the outgoing Board members.

I am committed to maintaining a strong dialogue with parents and fostering a sense of community that empowers us to collaborate effectively towards the betterment of your children’s education. Your partnership is very important, and I encourage you to actively participate in our initiatives and share your valuable insights.

Great things in an organization are never done by one person, they are done by a team of people, and at the APEEE we fortunately have such a great team. Each of the APEEE staff members are committed to ensure safe services.on a daily basis. We are not perfect, and perhaps we cannot meet the needs of every single request, but we are committed to providing excellent services for your children, ensuring their safety, enjoyment, and overall well-being. For those among you who wonder how APEEE administrative staff is recruited, this is done via professional recruitment channels such as for example Stepstone, followed by a selection procedure.

We are always striving to improve our services, therefore we very much value your feedback. Please do not hesitate to share your thoughts and suggestions with us. Together, we can create a truly exceptional experience for your children.

Wishing you a great New Year on behalf of all of the APEEE staff and myself.
