To help you prepare for your child’s first day back at school, please find below important information about the APEEE school bus service.

At a glance – What you need to know for APEEE Transport service

• School buses start on Thursday 3 September 2026, from the morning.
• First-day afternoon departures: Woluwe between 13:00 and 13:10; Evere between 15:30 and 15:40.
• Check your child’s transport details in the Secured Zone before the first day – bus number, stop, timetable and employer category may need your attention.
• Routes and stops have been reviewed: your child’s bus number, timetable or stop location may have changed. Some stops may also have moved to the opposite side of the road.
• Nursery and Primary parents: please make sure your child and their class teacher know which afternoon bus your child should take.
• Registrations are automatically renewed, except for Nursery and Primary pupils who attended Woluwe in 2025–2026 and are moving to Evere in 2026–2027. These pupils require a new registration.
• If you no longer wish to use the school bus service, please unregister via the Secured Zone.
• Food is not permitted on school buses. This is particularly important to protect pupils with food allergies.
• Using phones is, in principle, not permitted on school buses for nursery and primary pupils (Evere). Justified and reasonable usage (e.g. to call or text the parents) is tolerated.

School bus service from the first day of school

The school bus service will operate as usual from the morning of Thursday 3 September 2026.

Please note: on the first day of school, the afternoon buses will depart at : 

• Woluwe : between 13.00 and 13.10
• Evere : between 15.30 and 15.40

As every year, some delays may occur during the first few days of operation. We apologise in advance and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please check your transport details

The transport network for the coming school year has had to be substantially redesigned following the changes in pupil distribution between EEB2’s two sites. This has required a complex balancing exercise across the entire network, taking into account geographical coverage, journey times as close as possible to the maximum time of one hour, vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, operational constraints, and the needs of several thousand pupils.

Bus routes and stops have been reviewed And as a result:

• your child’s bus route number may have changed;
• the bus stop location or timetable may be different;
• some bus stops may have moved to the opposite side of the road.

In addition, before the start of the school year, please verify your child’s transport information in your Secured Zone. This includes checking the employer of the parent receiving the education allowance (e.g. European Commission, European Parliament, Paying Parent, etc.).

Please check all details carefully.

We also ask parents of Nursery and Primary pupils to ensure that both their child and their class teacher know which afternoon bus the child should take. We recommend writing the bus number in your child’s school agenda or, until the agenda is issued, placing a clearly labelled note on their school bag.

Afternoon bus service – Woluwe

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, two afternoon departures are available:

• 15:30
• 16:20 

On Wednesday, there is one departure at 13:00.

Afternoon bus service – Evere

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, there is one afternoon departure at 15:30.

In addition to taking their regular bus home from Evere, pupils have the option of taking the 15h30 shuttle bus from Evere to Woluwe. Upon arrival at Woluwe, pupils may be picked up by their parents directly on site; or attend supervision with a snack, as of 21 September attend an extracurricular activity or supervision, depending on their registration. 

On Wednesday, departures are at:

• 13:00 for all registered pupils;
• 13:30 for pupils registered for an extracurricular activity or supervision, or whose parent will collect them at the Woluwe site.

A 13:00 departure on Fridays is organised only for pupils attending Afterschool Childcare Services (Nursery, P1 and P2).

Registration

Only registered pupils may use the school bus service.

• If you are already registered, no action is required. Your registration is automatically renewed for the new school year. Except for nursery and primary pupils who were enrolled in Woluwe in 2025-2026 and starting in Evere in 2026-2027.
• If you wish to use the service for the first time, please register via your Secured Zone.
• If you no longer wish to use the service, please unregister in the Secured Zone.
• You will be automatically invoiced from 3 September 2026, unless you unregister before that date. Please ensure your billing information is up to date in your Secured Zone.

Important reminders

Using phones is, in principle, not permitted on school buses for nursery and primary pupils. Justified and reasonable usage (e.g. to call or text the parents) is tolerated. These rules are meant to avoid risks of exposure of young children to content that may not be adapted for them.

Food is not permitted on school buses. This rule helps protect pupils with food allergies and prevent any food-related issue. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

If your child has a severe allergy that you would like to communicate to the APEEE Transport team, please complete the Transport & Extracurricular Activities Allergy Declaration Form as the APEEE does not have access to the medical information that you may have shared with the school.

Items found on APEEE school buses are temporarily stored at the APEEE offices. Further information regarding the Eurêka lost property service will be communicated by the school.

Please note that the Eurêka service is managed under the responsibility of the school, with the support and involvement of parent volunteers.

Bus passes

Bus passes will be distributed as follows:

• Nursery and Primary: by the class teacher.
• Secondary: via the class letterbox (Educational Advisors’ office).

Please note that the APEEE school bus service is reserved for pupils only. Parents are not permitted to board the buses. New parents may therefore wish to accompany their children to school during the first few days while they become familiar with their new environment.

Together School app – Launch planned for the end of September

As announced in our communications during the previous school year, the APEEE will introduce the Together School app for the School Transport service.

The app is currently scheduled to be launched by the end of September 2026. It will provide parents with a more convenient way to follow information relating to their child’s school transport, including live-location of bus, delay notifications, absence reporting and targeted transport communications.

No action is required from parents at this stage.

Closer to the launch date, we will come back to you with all the practical information you need, including:

• where and how to download the Together School app;
• how to create and activate your account;
• how to use the app and its main transport-related features.

Until the app is officially launched, the existing communication channels and procedures remain in place.

Financial Assistance 

Families experiencing financial difficulties covering the cost of APEEE services, including school transport, canteen services and supervision, may apply for support through the APEEE Social Fund, in accordance with the Social Fund rules available on our website. 

APEEE Membership Fee 

Please note that your first invoice will include the annual APEEE membership fee of €57. This membership fee is mandatory and is required to access any APEEE service, including extracurricular activities.
