WOLUWE

Dear parents,

We are happy to start a new school year 2023-2024 with you and hope you have had a nice summer holiday. In preparation of your children’s first day back to school, please find below information on the organisation of the APEEE Transport service.

Please find below a recap of how the APEEE school bus service will be operating for this school year.

  • School buses will be operating as normal from the morning service from the first day of school, Wednesday 6th September onwards. As Wednesday is a half-day, the return home departure is set at school at 13:00 and will be the same for each Wednesday.

Delays may occur on the first days of school. Please note that the APEEE is in the midst of a digital transformation and due to changes and developments, the APEEE can, until further notice, only communicate any delays by sms to the “main contact”. We apologise for this inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience.

Please make sure your child and their teacher (if your child is in Nursery and Primary) know the bus number that they need to take in the afternoon. We highly recommend adding the information to your child’s school agenda.

Temporary move P1 and P2 pupils

During the temporary move of the P1 and P2 pupils, an adapted transport service will be offered. It is of the highest importance that your child and their teacher know, for each day of the week, where your child needs to go. For example: if they need to take a shuttle to Woluwe, if they need to take the bus directly from Evere, if they are picked up in Evere directly by parents, if they need to go to the Afterschool Childcare Centers, etc

In case of any punctual change, you must inform your child’s teacher.

School buses will be open to all pupils who are registered for the services.

Bus routes and stops have been re-planned to ensure that the maximum journey time does not exceed 1 hour for pupils. This means that your bus route number or bus stop location and timetable may have changed. Thank you to verify your transport details in your Secured Zone.

Please note, some bus stops may have changed to the other side of the road so please check location carefully.

Afternoon school bus service

There are two afternoon bus services, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 3.30 pm and 4.20 pm, except on Wednesday when there is only one departure at 1 pm. Primary and Nursery pupils have priority access to the 3.30 pm bus, since they are not allowed to use the bus departure at 4.20 pm. Secondary pupils may use the 3.30 pm bus service only if there are seats available. If there are not sufficient seats available, they will be invited to take the 4.20 pm service. Secondary pupils accompanying a sibling in the Nursery or Primary section have priority over other secondary pupils for the 3.30 pm service.

Only secondary students allowed to leave the bus alone can take the 4.20 pm bus as there are no supervisors on board. Please note that the 4.20 pm buses have a different bus number than the 3.30 pm buses.

Only pupils who are registered for the bus service may use it. To register, please go to your Secured Zone. If you are already registered, you do not need to take any action, your registration continues for the next school year. If you wish to stop using the service, please unregister in the Secured Zone.

If you pay for the bus service yourself, you will be automatically invoiced as of 6th September unless you unregister before that date, so please check your billing details in the Secured Zone.

Bus passes will be distributed as follows:

  • By the teacher for children in Maternelle and Primary school;
  • In the class letterbox (office of the Educational Advisors) for pupils in secondary school.

The APEEE school bus service is only open to pupils; parents are not allowed to board the bus. New parents may therefore wish to bring their children to school themselves on the first day.

Questions and suggestions

We will be reviewing all these arrangements after the first few weeks of operation, to see where we can improve and what needs to be changed. We thank you, in advance, for your patience and invite you to send us your ideas and suggestions for how we can improve our service.

If you were to have any additional questions do not hesitate to check the FAQ section on our website. If you do not find the answer to your question, please reach out through our website.

We wish you a good start of the school year !

Best regards, APEEE Transport
