How It Works

Nursery and Primary Pupils

All Nursery and Primary pupils are accompanied to the refectory and supervised by their teacher.

The school provides a separate room in the primary building for all the children who bring a packed lunch (for further information, please get in touch with the school).

Secondary Pupils

We reserve access to the refectory for pupils with a lunch subscription (or in possession of a meal ticket on Wednesdays only), with no exceptions. The school provides a separate room for students who bring a packed lunch. Any pupil being in the refectory without a valid subscription or ticket will get a penalty fee of:

  • 1st offence: warning
  • 2nd offence: price of the ticket
  • 3rd offence: ticket price multiplied by 3
  • Subsequent offences: ticket price multiplied by 6

The pupil will not have access to the canteen service. Regular checks are made by our team.

Supervision

Following the canteen convention in effect, the supervision of the secondary pupils is under the school’s liability.

On Wednesdays there is a service at 12.00 for secondary 6 and 7 and a service at 12.30 for the OIB & extracurricular.

Warm meals will be served as of 5th September 2024.

Wednesday Meal Supervision

Children who eat in the canteen on Wednesdays and who have no activity after the meal must be enrolled in the surveillance without activity, even if the parents come to pick them up after the meal. This supervision must be registered without activity with the extracurricular service. Except for nursery school children who eat at 11 a.m. and P1 and P2 children who eat at 11.15 a.m. on Wednesdays

Occasional Meals on Wednesday

Students may purchase a meal ticket (for Wednesday) for €8 at the Canteen Office. The ticket is valid for one day only: the date of validity is indicated on the back of the ticket. It should be handed to the service ladies before the meal.

The canteen does not give credit, the ticket has to be paid for on the day and is not refundable.

European Commission Afterschool Childcare

Children attending the Commission’s afterschool childcare do not have to be registered for Wednesday’s meal at the APEEE. Indeed, the Wednesday meal is already included in your OIB registration.

For information: Commission afterschool childcare: 02 295 09 45.

Pupils With a Homemade Lunch

All maternelle and primary pupils with a packed-lunch eat under supervision in dedicated premisses by the school.

Secondary school pupils eat in dedicated premisses by the school.

The information below concerns the cafeteria service in WOLUWE.

Where is the Cafeteria located ?

Located next to the sports hall, the cafeteria is open to all secondary pupils.

We offer a wide range of sandwiches, paninis, mini pizzas, muffins, cakes, brownies, fruits and yogurts, and soup every day in the winter, to take away or to eat in the cafeteria.

The bread is always baked the same day.

When ?

The cafeteria is open from 8:30 to 13:30.

Because of the removal of the vending machines, the cafetaria is open at 8:30 only for selling drinks and snacks.

The sandwiches are on sale as of 10:30.

Pre-order 🥪

We know that the queues in the cafeteria are too long and that’s why we made some changes to reduce the queues and save you time

To pre-order your food simply go to the cafeteria between 08:00 to 11:30 and select your food/snack choices, pay, and set the time (from 10:30 onwards) you will pick up your order, as simple as that.

At your chosen pick up time use the pre-ordered line to collect your order.

As of 11:00 pupils can only buy cold food & drinks and no warm food will be available.

We really do hope that you will stop by between 8:00 and 11:00 to pre-order your food/snack and save yourself some time.

The APEEE has revised its General Terms & Conditions which will be applicable as of 2024-2025 school year. We highly recommend that you carefully read the updated General Terms & Conditions which are available on our website.
