BRUMUN 2025 and Sabrina Fasoli Best Delegation Prize

By Sanjee Goonetilake, Coordinator of School Community Building WG of APEEE.

After 10 months of preparation, the 2025 session of BRUMUN took place last week at the European parliament. It was an incredibly exciting and inspiring event : EEB2 : Brumun

BRUMUN stands for Brussels Model United Nations.

BRUMUN was founded by EEB2 Teacher Colm Kehoe who put his heart and soul into creating an event that would teach critical thinking skills, diplomacy, tact & so much more through the preparation of this event. Mr Kehoe was an icon of EEB2 and although he is no longer with us, he is remembered by his students, colleagues, teachers and parents.

Here is a tribute written to Mr Kehoe by parents, teachers & students when he passed away during the pandemic.

We are touched to note that the EEB2 has named the Grand Debates after Mr Colm Kehoe.

In September 2025, Ms Caroline Jeanjot, Coordinator of School projects of EEB2 contacted the School Community Building WG of APEEE Board with a touching gesture.

She proposed to honour the memory of French Section Board member Sabrina Fasoli by awarding a prize in her name for BRUMUN 2025 and for the future sessions of BRUMUN.

She wrote the following. “Sabrina Fasoli was always very helpful in different project including BRUMUN. Since she was a real team player and always helping behind the scenes, we think the award for the best delegation is a perfect match.  The Sabrina Fasoli Best delegation prize will be awarded by the teachers of the approval panel.”

We were deeply touched by this gesture of the school to have acknowledged the contributions of parent volunteers and especially the memory of our colleague Sabrina Fasoli whom we lost this July.

Sabrina’s husband Fouad Ibrahimi and her son Elias were present at BRUMUN closing ceremony at the European Parliament. Her son Elias was given the honour of handing over the Sabrina Fasoli Best Delegation Prize to the winners.

We would like to thank all the teachers, educational advisors, supervisors, parent volunteers and all who helped behind the scenes to make BRUMUN 2025 a success.
