Evere Canteen : Workshops๐Ÿด๐Ÿฅ•

As some of you may be aware, the Evere Canteen has earned its initial Fork (out of 3) as part of the Good Food Label project and is actively pursuing the achievement of its second Fork. This Label acknowledges efforts in promoting healthy eating and aims to increase awareness of the role food plays in sustainable living.

In November 2023, the canteen manager in Evere submitted the application for Fork 2. Starting from February 2024, in collaboration with the school nurse, the manager is set to conduct workshops for P1 and P3 pupils covering various topics. The workshop for P1 pupils will focus on exploring overlooked vegetables and emphasising the significance of their vitamin content for overall health and digestion. Meanwhile, the workshop for P3 pupils will delve into distinguishing between good and bad sugars, examining the impact of sugar on their teeth.

InterParents AGM : Outcome

InterParents, the umbrella association of the 13 European schoolsโ€™ APEEEโ€™s, met at Evere on 5th & 6th February, to prepare for the Joint Teaching Committee of the European schools (scheduled on the 8 & 9 February) and for its own AGM.

Each APEEE sends two delegates and two observers to InterParents. For our APEEE these are for this year:

  • Delegates: Andrew Janis Folkmanis and David Zelinger
  • Observers: Sofia Amor and Anja Semmelrodt

InterParents represents parents of all European schools, in particular at Board of Governors meetings. The Board of Governors brings together all member states and European/international institutions that use the system. The work of parent delegates and observers is to prepare the positions and interventions of InteParents, to ensure that these are well in line with the interests of the parent community.

InterParents work is organised by the InterParents bureau. At the AGM two bureau positions were for (re)election. The new bureau is; President; Helen Valentine (Lux 1) Vice-President; Reet Escribano (Alicante) Treasurer; Mariella Spata (Frankfurt) Co-Secretary; Andrew Janis Folkmanis (EEB2) Co-Secretary; Eleanna Stergiouli (EEB3).
