Click here APEEE Newsletter : Friday 15th December 2023n°15/2023Dear co-parents, After an energetic start to the school year, including the renovations in primary, we can see a good future emerging for our school. The dialogue advances on the future of Evere, I am optimistic. Maybe you visited the Christmas fair, we found it friendly and relaxing. Our decision to go was made by Katrina (6), who told us “it is my school”. She was well rewarded, especially the bouncy castles. Hope you and your family enjoyed it too. I wish all your families a very Merry Christmas and festive season, very best wishes for the New Year. Best regards, Janis Folkmanis, APEEE President A conversation with the CDE Governance 🎤The APEEE organised an insightful interview with the CDE governance, Ms Taimi Alberti, President, and M. Sarnath Gesquiere, Vice President. This engaging dialogue confirmed both parties’ commitment to nurturing a positive relationship centred around the wellbeing and education of students. Our sincere thanks to Taimi and Sarnath for taking the time to meet with us and for answering our questions. Extraordinary General Meeting : OutcomeThe Extraordinary General Meeting brought together 471 voting members including proxies. Parents were also invited to attend, however not entitled to vote. Throughout the session which was not without discussion, participants expressed their views, disseminated information, requested amendments and more. As a result, All articles received the required 2/3rd majority, and 4/5th majority for resolutions 4 and 9, except for articles 14 and 17. Consequently, the APEEE will not meet all legal requirements as of 11th January 2024 and will need to remedy this situation. An official report is currently being drafted gathering the results, the statements and minutes of the meeting. The report will be shared in due time on our website. We also take this opportunity to remind you that the Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 11th January 2024 at 19h in the Salle De Gaspari (Charlemagne Building), registration information has been sent to all parents and is available on our website. Activities : Places Still Available 👀🤩Despite high demand, there are still a few places available in some activities. Parents are therefore invited to register if they find an activity that suits their little one. As registrations are made during the course of the year, prices will be calculated on a pro rata basis according to the number of sessions remaining. You will find all the registration conditions in our general terms and conditions. Extracurricular activities are an opportunity for children to relax and enjoy themselves. They allow them to discover new activities and make new friends ✨. Evere Zoning : Update🚧The public consultation on zoning changes that may impact our Evere site (PAD Défense) is scheduled to close on Friday 22nd December 2023. During its meeting on 11th December, the Board endorsed a document to be submitted in the context of the consultation. Our submission emphasises the vital need for the EEB2 Evere site to remain permanent, aligning with commitments previously made by the Belgian government. These commitments were reiterated during the December 2023 Board of Governors meeting and continue to be the basis for the Policy on Enrolment in the Brussels European Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. Furthermore, we also stress that in the ongoing process, EEB2 must not be prevented from using the current Evere site building until the delivery of a permanent facility in the PAD area. To address this crucial matter effectively, the APEEE maintains regular communication with EEB2 Director, Ms. Malik. For the time being, we are awaiting further details from the Régie des Bâtiments (RdB) and the Secretary General of the European Schools. Friday 22nd December 2023 🎄A communication has been sent regarding Friday 22nd December 2023 and what it entails for the APEEE services. Please find a brief summary of the arrangements:
School Transport 🚌For over three months since the start of the school year, the Transport Service has been hard at work. After relocating students from Evere to Woluwe and the subsequent reduction in stress levels😪, the Transport Team has effectively managed its daily workload. We want to express our gratitude to the parent community for keeping us informed about road works, reporting issues on certain bus routes, and providing valuable suggestions for enhancing our service! If you have sent a message to the Transport Team, and have not yet received a reply, please note we are sorry for the delay and are currently assessing all requests. However, if you have not yet received a reply, do not hesitate to send us a reminder. |
