No images? Click here APEEE Newsletter : Friday 24th November 2023n°14/2023Dear co-parents, It will be a busy December for the APEEE! With the EGM on 7 December we must try to make ourselves legal for 2024. By 22 December we will submit a complaint in the public enquiry on the future of the Evere site. We must also prepare for our AGM on 11 January. Two information sessions are planned for December so we can discuss any issues you may have in advance; 14 December at 12.30 there will be an information session on the financial accounts of the APEEE and on the 21 December at 12.30 there will be an information session on the annual report. I would like to stress the importance of the EGM on 7 December. It is housekeeping, but essential housekeeping. Changes in Belgian company law compel us to update our statutes to conform. I have heard some say, there will be no consequences if we do not pass the statutes changes. This is incorrect. Formally we would not be legal from 1 January. We would need legal advice, if we are allowed to continue operations of buses, canteen from that date. So I do seriously request that all classreps attend on 7 December, or pass on their proxy, as we need a quorum of 67%. And please also consider very carefully, have good grounds, if you choose to vote down any of the amendments. The Evere zoning enquiry is a worrying development, as it casts a shadow over the future of the Evere site after 2027. We have parents who tell us, quote notes from meetings, that we have received assurances in 2022 that the Evere site is permanent. We have asked for confirmation of this from the Secretary-General of European Schools, Andreas Beckmann, in an email exchange that began immediately after the enquiry was published on 20 October 2023. No information is forthcoming, only that he will speak to Belgian authorities. Attempts to find a Belgian Government decision that the site is permanent have given no result. So your Board decided on 13 November to draft a deposition to the enquiry. We propose to approve this in the Board on 11 December, for submittal by 22 December. We will keep you closely informed as this develops. In all these actions, and also overcrowding in secondary for several years now, we struggle to find support from others. Letters or petitions are ignored by the Board of Governors and Secretary-General. The Evere status and secondary overcrowding affect directly or indirectly all of the school, primary, secondary, Woluwe, Evere. Please let us combine our forces, be united, show solidarity, and together seek new ways to assure a proper infrastructure for our school. APEEE InvoicesThe APEEE has already sent out a first invoice with the contribution fee, and is currently issuing the transport and canteen invoices. However, since the new invoicing IT platform is under construction, the invoicing for the extracurricular activities services will be organised only later this year or early 2024, depending on when this is possible. The Woluwe canteen service for the P1 & P2 pupils for the first trimester who returned on 8/11/2023 to Woluwe, will also not yet be invoiced. Their invoicing for the period between 8/11/2023 and 22/12/2023 is scheduled for mid-December. Woluwe P1 & P2 : Payment Balance Recovery in Click4foodAs you are aware, the Canteen service in Evere is provided by Scolarest-Compass. At the beginning of this year, all P1 & P2 Woluwe parents were requested to create an account to cover the temporary move of their children. Due to the early return to Woluwe, parents who are in order of payment for the meals can now recover their remaining balance. If you encounter any issues do not hesitate to contact euro.school.evere@compass-group.be Click4Food Procedure
After 3 or 4 working days, your money will be in the account with which you made the payment transactions. Please note that this opportunity to recover your remaining balance is applicable only to parents who have cleared their payment for the meals during the temporary move. Scolarest-Compass will contact parents on a case-by-case basis to settle any pending payments. |
