The CEES is the main stakeholder forum to discuss emerging issues in the secondary cycle, including the organisation of school life and pedagogical and well-being matters. CEES meetings are chaired by the Deputy Director for Secondary (Ms Verwilghen) with the support of the Assistant to the Deputy Director (Ms Meeus). Teachers, pupils, and parents are represented by four members each. Yesterday, the CEES mainly discussed overcrowding in the Secondary school premises currently hosting 2.084 secondary pupils in premises built to host a maximum of 1.100 pupils (surplus of 984 pupils). The most worrying for the entire school community is that overcrowding is set to rise even further, beyond 103%, with at least 150 more Secondary students in 2023-2024 than in this school year which will further increase the adverse effects on education and wellbeing. The group also discussed the state of play of departures and replacements of teachers as of September 2023, guided tour dates of the Secondary school for new parents, update of well-being policies, and trips/excursions for next school year from S1 to S6. All You Evere Wanted to Know !We have previously shared our wish to highlight members of the school community. Thanking them for all they do for EEB2 and the children. This week, we focus on our Evere librarian, Laure Brogniez, who has kindly agreed to reply to questions prepared by Ulrike Storost, APEEE Board Member. Ms Storost asked Laure about her plans for the library, how to find the catalogue and what the role of the librarian is. We thank Laure for her availability and her help! Interview done by U.
