APEEE Service Registrations for 2023-2024 The registrations to the APEEE Transport & Canteen for Woluwe and Transport for Evere will open on the 19th June. A separate message for the Extracurricular registrations for both Woluwe and Evere will be sent in due time. For the Canteen in Evere, parents will also receive a dedicated message from Scolarest-Compass. All parents have received an email explaining the steps (for new parents, currently enrolled pupils, parents who wish to modify registrations, etc). We highly recommend carefully reading the General Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions regarding the services, please contact us through our website. If you are interested and would like to come, save the date ! An 'entry pass' will be sent to all parents in due time to show at the school entrance. Education Committee for the Primary & Maternelle Cycle (CEP&M)On Thursday 8th June, the Parents Association participated to the last CEP&M meeting for this school year. The CEP&M is the main forum to discuss Primary and Maternelle related issues and concerns. On Thursday, the committee discussed multiple topics, such as the temporary move, the homework policy and school trips. The preparations for P1/P2 temporary move are progressing well. The school premises will be closed starting 7th July and all the heavy work causing noise and dust (dismantling the walls) will be done over the summer. As of September 2023, only reconstruction works will be carried out. The school management will send a communication detailing the practicalities regarding the next semester to the parents when all the necessary information is gathered. The committee also discussed the new homework policy, which will be published soon as well as one-day school trips. At the beginning of the next school year, parents will have the opportunity to attend a meeting with the class teacher, which is the most favourable moment to talk about homework practices and one-day school trips, amongst other topics. The committee also encourages parents who are/were class treasurers to share good practices for handling the finances. The group also touched upon the playground supervision and the processes in case of incidents as well as the P3 Classes de Mer trip planned for October 2023. We also mention the following dates, do save them in your calendars: Information about the classes next year and their teachers will be shared 3rd July & the Maternelle and Primary booklists for the next year will be published on the website 28th June 2023. Future P3 parents might also want to note that the plan is to have Classes de Mer take place already in October next school year. Supporting the European School Parent Community Through the BaccalaureatAs some of you may know, the S7 students started their Baccalaureat exams on Monday 5th June 2023, to whom we wish the best of luck ! 🍀 We have recently sent out a message to all S7 parents. We take this opportunity to remind you that if your child comes home following an examination with a concern about it, do take time to gain an understanding of the nature of the problem. Having talked it through, if you conclude that your child encountered a problem which was possibly due to a fault in the paper or in how the examination was run, then it could be worth investigating further at the level of the Examining Board and Baccalaureate Unit responsible for management of the examination overall. Please consider that we are rather few volunteer parents that need to react quickly to possible concerns raised by you. In order to build a strong argumentation when contacting/meeting the Bac managers, we need your active collaboration!! In particular we would ask you in case you need to raise a concern:
Your communication will have to be sent out via the Interparents Baccalaureate Support Platform. Guidance can be asked to our Woluwe representatives francesca.tudini@woluweboard.eu and bettina.schmidbauer-mogensen@woluweboard.eu Evere Foodfest 🌞Here is a new date to celebrate the Evere Foodfest: Friday 23rd June 2023 from 10h to 13h! Please see again the invitation & additional information. Do not forget to register to access the event and in case you want to help out do not hesitate to contact everefamilyday@evereparents.org We look forward to celebrating with you and the Evere pupils next week. The Eurêka Team is Looking for Volunteers ! 👀Eurêka is a big part of the school community! Every child has lost at least one belonging in their time at EEB2 and thanks to the Eurêka Team, many of them are recovered! Eurêka is the lost & found service of EEB2 run by parent-volunteers who collect, sort and record lost items (books, clothes, keys, calculators, watches, etc). The volunteers open the premises to pupils every Thursday (for nursery and primary) and Friday (for secondary). The service is only possible thanks to selfless dedication of parent-volunteers, who do their best to ensure the functioning of Eurêka with limited resources! Which is why they are reaching out to parents to ask for additional volunteers! You would only have to be available from time to time on Thursdays or Fridays, just a couple of hours! Should you be willing to lend a helping hand, please let us know by contacting the secretariat at: secretariat.apeee@woluweparents.org Secondhand Book Sale 📚As every year, the Second-hand Book Sale Committee is organising a second-hand book sale. Sales and deposits of second-hand school books will take place on the Woluwe site during the last two school weeks for pupils and parents from Woluwe and Evere. The dates have been communicated and are available on our website. The Book Sale Committee is offering students from S1 to S7 the opportunity to help with deposits and sales. All the tasks are listed on the APEEE website. Do not hesitate to volunteer if you are interested! Pump Up the Bicycles 🚲The APEEE has invested in two bike pumps & repair kits ! One of each will be available on the Woluwe and Evere site, in case of flat tire or bike problem. They will be left with the guards at the school's entrance, so if you have a bike problem, do not hesitate to ask the guards for the pump or repair kit ! Happy Cycling ! |
